NEW ARTIST: Robert Nicol

We are now exhibiting British artist Robert Nicol's work online and on our Artsy page. Nicols paints on perspex using acrylic to create these bizarre fictional scenes. The perspex gives the work a soft finish which works well on a small scale.

'Hidden People' - Free Screening at House of Vans Saturday 29th July

'Hidden People' is a short documentary made by Daisy Dickinson and Julia Laird that will be screening at House of Vans on Saturday 29th of July. Click here to reserve tickets. The documentary focuses on the Icelandic belief in elves and hidden folk that live among the natural rocks.

NEW ARTIST: Ewelina Skowronska

We are happy to announce Polish artist Ewelina Skowronska will now be working with the gallery. She is currently based in Japan and splits her time between there and London. Her recent body of work titled the 'Ikebana series' is based on the Japanese tradition of flower arranging. She has developed this contemporary dialogue between form and colour. Her work is now available for sale on Artsy and will soon be available in the Shop section of our website.

NEW ARTIST: Silje Lovise Gjertsen

We are very excited to announce that Norwegian photographer Silje Lovise Gjertsen will now be working with the gallery. She photographs the Norwegian landscape on a large format camera producing these mesmerising description of where the land and sea meet. All her work is hand printed on paper, metal and canvas giving the work a textural quality. Her work is currently available to buy on Artsy.

The Castle

India Dickinson Gallery's new office space is near completion!

We have converted an old barn on a disused farmyard, near Lewes in East Sussex, into a brand new gallery space. Running through the middle of the gallery were traditional concrete animal troughs, one has been kept in situ and converted into a perfectly uncomfortable sofa.

Ivo Morrison

Ivo Morrison has begun an artist residency in Jamaica where he will be for three months. He is working at Chris Blackwell's home in Strawberry Hill, Kingston, JA. Ivo will be working on a new body of work that will be previewed at our upcoming exhibition in June this year.

BASK collective have begun work on the much anticipated spring exhibition, "What the Thunder Said" which opens on the 2nd of May.

Laetus exhibition | 9-12th February 2017

LAETUS, an exhibition curated by India Dickinson and Donal Sturt was featured in It's Nice That ahead of the opening on the 9th of February. The show featured the work of five artists from South London; Donal Sturt, Lucas Dupuy, Alex May-Hughes, Joe Townshend and Robert Southworth. The artists showed what was possible with the striped back black and white colour palette. The show featured traditional painted signs on glass, Risogram prints, neon light sculptures and black and white mixed media paintings.
